Voters in three counties are casting their ballots today, Thursday May, 14, 2026 as voting kicked off smoothly in the by-elections for Emurua Dikirr Constituency in Narok, Porro Ward in Samburu, and Endo Ward in Elgeyo/Marakwet.

Emurua Dikirr seat fell vacant following the death of MP Johana Ng’eno following a helicopter crash on 28 February 2026 in Chepkiep village, Mosop sub-county, Nandi County.

Porro Ward also was left vacant following the passing of MCA Patrick Lerte on 28 December 2025 while undergoing treatment at Samburu County Referral Hospital after a short illness.

Endo Ward MCA Jeremiah Biwott Toryebee died on or around 9 January 2026 while receiving treatment at Nairobi Hospital after a long illness

Polling stations opened at 6:00 AM and will close at 5:00 PM, with any lost time compensated at the end of the day. Voters already in the queue by closing time will be allowed to exercise their right.
