Media personality Willis Raburu says the people of Nyando have given him a powerful message as he pursues his Kisumu Senate ambition: “Wamesema nisiwache hii kitu!”
Raburu celebrated the reception he received from residents and local leaders in Nyando, his home constituency, saying their encouragement had strengthened his resolve to pursue the seat.
“It is an honor to be accepted at home. Kisumu Senator 042! Asante sana to the leaders who came,” he said in a message shared on Sunday, October 11, 2026.
The media personality’s political ambitions have gained momentum following his entry into the Linda Mwananchi movement in April 2026, a move confirmed by Siaya Governor James Orengo.
Orengo welcomed Raburu into the movement, citing his youthful energy, corporate MC experience and creative media background as valuable additions to the political platform.
Raburu’s latest engagement in Nyando places his home constituency at the centre of his political journey as he seeks to transition from the media industry into elective politics.

With the 2027 General Election approaching, Raburu’s senatorial bid adds another name to the political conversation in Kisumu County, where voters will ultimately decide who represents them in the Senate.
Willis Raburu: “From Reporting The Story To Writing History”
Willis Raburu’s journey to the 2027 Kisumu Senate seat isn’t just a political run-it is a homecoming. Standing tall under the Linda Mwananchi movement, Raburu has celebrated an overwhelming wave of support from the resilient people of Nyando.
A Promise Rooted in the Soil
For years, Raburu brought the struggles of ordinary Kenyans to the airwaves. Now, he is walking among the people—not as an observer, but as a son ready to serve. In the heart of Nyando, where families have weathered seasonal floods and economic storms, his message resonated deeply: leadership must be accountable, visible, and deeply human.
“Kisumu is home. I grew up here, and I owe this land my life. It is time to turn storytelling into real, lived service delivery.”
The Power of Linda Mwananchi
The energy in Nyando signaled more than an endorsement-it was a awakening:
Grassroots Unification: The Linda Mwananchi ethos places the ordinary citizen at the center of governance, ensuring their voices are no longer sidelined.
Youth & Vision: Bringing fresh vigor and policy-driven purpose, Raburu’s campaign bridges the gap between frustration and real, structural solution.
A Shared Destiny: The endorsement from Nyando elders and youth alike reflects a community eager to break away from recycled promises and step into a new dawn.
The ground in Kisumu is shifting. With the people of Nyando standing shoulder to shoulder with him, Willis Raburu’s march to the Senate is no longer just a campaign-it is a movement born from the heart of the mwananchi.
