A sombre mood has engulfed Samari village in Lubanga sub-location, Matungu constituency, Kakamega County after a 42-year-old man who went missing on Saturday was found murdered and buried next to his homestead.
The deceased, George Ombongo, who has been residing in Naivasha town, had traveled back home to visit his family and monitor his development projects before he was found murdered and buried within his compound.
Residents have been left in shock, wondering how the man could be killed, a grave dug within his compound, and his body buried without anyone’s knowledge.
The body of the deceased was found with deep panga cuts and signs of acid burns.
It is suspected that the deceased was killed inside his house and later buried outside his compound, as some of the blunt objects used to commit the murder were recovered inside the house.
His family describes the deceased as a loving person to everyone. They are now left with unanswered questions regarding the death of their loved one, calling on the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to launch immediate investigations
