Super Metro and AIC Ziwani Church Nairobi have dismissed claims by Kirinyaga Woman Rep. Njeri Maina that its buses had ferried goons allegedly brought from Nairobi to disrupt DCP Party Leader Rigathi Gachagua’s rallies in the county.

The clarification from the two entities came after Maina posted a video showing the public transport SACCO buses occupied with youths with the caption: “Super Metro!!! I see you have transported goons to Kirinyaga to wreak havoc at Riggy G’s meetings.”

The lawmaker had further warned that the local organisers and facilitators will be rounded up to face legal action.

“As we legally come for the local organizers and facilitators. We shall also hold you legally culpable for aiding and abetting any violence that happens at any of the meetings today!!”

But in a rejoinder, the AIC Church Ziwani Nairobi on Monday, August 24 clarified that the buses were not ferrying goons, but church youth going for a fellowship.

On its Facebook page, the said that the AIC Ziwani Christian Youth in Action (CYA) had a wonderful time of fellowship, adventure, and “connecting with God through His creation during our Nature Hike at Kathanden Forest — Forest Bathing & Water Chase. “

The church further said that the adventure was successful and refreshing experience as its young people stepped away from the ordinary to explore the beauty of nature, strengthened friendships, and appreciated the creativity of our God.

“A special appreciation goes to Super Metro for partnering with us and providing safe, reliable, and comfortable transport for our young people. Your partnership helped make this experience possible, and we sincerely appreciate your commitment to supporting the next generation,” the church added.

Super Metro, on its part, stressed on the clarification by the church.

“The AIC Church Ziwani Nairobi has clarified that the buses spotted in Kirinyaga were carrying secondary school boys and girls who were heading for a hike at Kathandeni Forest in Gichugu Constituency, Kirinyaga County.
