Detectives from the Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU) have arrested three suspected drug traffickers in separate operations in Homa Bay, Nairobi and Mombasa.

In Homa Bay, detectives arrested Carren Adhiambo Akoth, who had been wanted after police recovered 91.94 kilograms of cannabis worth about KSh 2.76 million from her home in Oyugis on June 14, 2026.

Detectives later traced her to a hideout following a sustained investigation and is expected to face charges of narcotics trafficking.

In Nairobi, ANU detectives from Isiolo arrested Ramadhan Wache, a booking clerk at a bus company, who was linked to a suspected drug consignment intercepted at the Archers Post checkpoint on August 5.

Wache had reportedly been hiding in Eastleigh. He was taken to Isiolo Police Station and is being processed before arraignment.

Meanwhile, in Mombasa, detectives arrested Millicent Adhiambo and Melvin Achieng after a sack declared to contain dried cassava split open while being unloaded from a passenger bus.

Officers discovered 15 packages of suspected cannabis hidden inside.

The recovered drugs have been secured as exhibits as investigations continue.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) thanked members of the public for providing information that has helped officers in the fight against drug trafficking.
