An Eldoret court has allowed police to hold five suspects, including a couple, for 14 days in connection with the murder of a hotel manager whose body was discovered near Kipkorgot Centre in Ainabkoi Sub-County, Uasin Gishu County.

Eldoret Resident Magistrate Naima Chelagat approved the detention of Allan Kiprotich, Elvis Ambani, Jackson Sifuna, Fredrick Seroney, and Betty Jeptoo to allow investigators to conclude their work.

Investigating Officer Eric Ruto told the court that the 14 days were needed to recover the murder weapon, arrest other accomplices, record witness statements, obtain communication data, take blood samples to the Government Chemist for forensic analysis, and conduct mental status assessments on the suspects.

The victim’s body was found lying near Kipkorgot Centre, a short distance from his car and close to a home where he is suspected to have been beaten to death.

The offence is alleged to have been committed on the night of August 6, 2026.

Investigators traced the suspects to the home of Allan Kiprotich Tuiyot and Betty Jeptoo Bii at Tuiyot Farm in Kipkorgot Location.

The case will return to court for further directions on August 25, 2026.
