From celibacy to courtship: DJ Kezz opens the door to love again

After years of choosing celibacy and setting boundaries around intimacy, Kenyan Gospel DJ Kezz appears ready to turn the page and this time, she is opening her heart to the possibility of being courted.

For years, DJ Kezz was part of conversations that challenged how people think about love, intimacy and intentional relationships.

Her decision to embrace celibacy sparked widespread discussion, with many following her journey and wondering what the next chapter would look like.

DJ Kezz: Celibacy Had Its Season. Now I’m Ready To Court Again

Kenyan deejay Keziah Jerono Rachel, popularly known as DJ Kezz, has revealed that she is once again thinking about courtship-a move that signals a softer, more intentional approach to love.

“A few years ago, we were having conversations about celibacy, and that conversation had everyone talking. Fast forward, and now I’m thinking about courting,” Kezz said on Tuesday, October 6, 2026.

And for Kezz, courtship is not simply about finding someone. It is about being intentionally pursued, taking things slowly and allowing genuine connection to grow without pressure.

“There’s a certain softness to being pursued with intention,” she said, describing the beauty of getting to know someone slowly through meaningful conversations, little surprises, handwritten letters and thoughtful dates.

It is a striking shift from the conversation around celibacy that once defined much of her public relationship narrative.

But Kezz is not saying she has found someone or announcing a new relationship.

Instead, she appears to be saying something much more vulnerable: she is open again.

“I love the idea of being courted. There’s something quietly romantic about it-effort without pressure, intention without force, and two people taking the time to really discover each other,” she added.

And perhaps that is what makes her latest revelation resonate.

After spending years intentionally creating boundaries, Kezz is now expressing a desire for something slower, softer and more deliberate. No rushing. No pressure to immediately define what a connection means. Just two people taking the time to discover whether something real can grow.

From “No” to “Maybe”

Celibacy can represent much more than abstaining from sex. For many, it can be a season of reflection, healing, spiritual growth and establishing personal boundaries.

For Kezz, that season appears to have shaped how she now views intimacy and relationships.

Rather than rushing headfirst into romance, she seems drawn to the idea of intentional pursuit-the kind where conversations matter, effort is visible and attraction has room to breathe.

Her words also reflect something many people experience: what we want from love can change with time.

What once felt right may eventually give way to a different desire. A new season can bring a new perspective.

And for DJ Kezz, that new season may just be called courtship.

For now, there is no confirmed romance, no mystery partner and no relationship announcement.

Just an open door. And perhaps, somewhere on the other side of that door, someone is wondering whether they should finally shoot their shot.
