Mavoko minority communities’ leader calls for peaceful campaigns ahead of 2027

As the nation heads towards the 2027 General Election, a call has been made to politicians and Kenyans at large to conduct peaceful campaigns free from insults.

Denis Oyunge, speaking after being installed as the leader of minority communities living in Mavoko Constituency, Machakos County, and minority (marginalized) communities, stated that there is a great need for politicians to conduct peaceful campaigns without hurling insults at each other.

He urged the youth to turn out in large numbers to register as voters in the second phase of voter registration, so as to have a voice in deciding and electing good leaders.

Similar sentiments to Oyunge’s were echoed by the Deputy Chairperson of the Wiper Patriotic Front, who also urged Kenyans to elect leaders based on their ability to lead and not on tribalism.

During the event, the minority communities endorsed Denis Oyunge as their leader .
