Mystery as four suspects linked to Eastleigh’s KSh3.9 million robbery found dead

Police have recovered bodies of four robbery with violence suspects, barely two weeks after stealing from a businessman in Eastleigh.

In the March 30 incident, the suspects were captured on CCTV attacking the man aboard a motrocycle, shooting him before escaping with a bag full of cash.

It was later discovered that they had made away with KSh3.9 million from the businessman.

Barely two weeks later, bodies of the four suspects were discovered in different parts of Kajiado and Kiambu counties. The suspects had been murdered.

On April 4, the body of Fredrick Obote was discovered in a thicket within Lari near the View Point in Kiambu County.

The deceased’s body was transferred to city mortuary. An autopsy conducted by pathologist Simon Omoko, revealed that Obote died due to strangulation.

During that period, another body of Walter Kibe Mwangi was collected from a river in Ongata Rongai, Kajiado County and booked at the city morgue.

An autopsy conducted on his body also revealed his cause of death was strangulation.

Police say a body positively identified as Esther Wanjiku, also linked to the gang, was discovered within Juja, Kiambu County as investigations into the robbery continued.

The body was booked at the city mortuary on April 8, and initially considered as a murder incident. It is believed the woman was the gang leader who acted as a surveillance spy before the robbery in Eastleigh.

Meanwhile, there is another body at Naivasha sub-County Hospital mortuary awaiting autopsy.

Police believe the four were responsible for this robbery with violence occurrence in Eastleigh. However, it is not yet clear on who trailed and killed them.
