New Entertainment Hub “Smash & Play” Debuts at Rhapta Promenade Mall

Rhapta Promenade Mall has officially leveled up Nairobi’s leisure scene with the launch of Smash & Play, an immersive entertainment hub designed to redefine how families and corporate groups spend their downtime.

Located along Rhapta Road in Westlands, the facility marks a strategic shift toward “experience-driven retail” within the city. Moving beyond the traditional arcade model, Smash & Play offers a curated mix of high-energy and creative activities.

A Hybrid World of Play

The facility is designed as a multi-generational space, featuring a diverse range of attractions:

  • Action & Gaming: Kids Play Park, bumper cars, mini golf, and VR gaming.
  • Classic Competition: PS5 stations, foosball, air hockey, and pool.
  • Creative Zones: Dedicated spaces for bracelet making, painting, and face painting.

To cater to Nairobi’s growing corporate and social events market, the venue includes a dedicated party room capable of hosting over 50 guests—making it a new go-to for birthdays, school outings, and team-building retreats.

“Play for a Cause”

The launch isn’t just about high scores; it’s about community impact. Under the banner “Play Bigger, Feel Alive, Play for a Cause,” Smash & Play has partnered with the Mathare Kids Talent Hub.

As part of the official opening, the hub announced a CSR donation of Ksh 100,000 to support the organization’s mission of nurturing young talent in dance and the creative arts.

“This initiative reflects Smash & Play’s commitment to aligning play with purpose,” the organization stated, noting their goal to help youth unlock their potential through experiential learning.

Smash & Play Rhapta officially opens its doors this Saturday, April 18th. With a hybrid model that combines pay-per-play gaming with structured group packages and on-site dining, it aims to become a staple lifestyle destination for Nairobi residents.
