Leaders allied to the ODM and UDA parties have criticized the planned demonstrations scheduled for June 25, 2026 accusing opposition leaders of using young people to advance their political interests.
Speaking during a women empowerment programme in Asumbi, ODM National Chairperson Gladys Wanga said Kenyans should be cautious of leaders who, she claimed, were taking advantage of the youth to achieve their political ambitions.
The leaders urged Kenyans and their supporters to refrain from participating in the planned protests, arguing that there are better ways of addressing national concerns than through street demonstrations.
Among those present at the event were Suna East MP Junet Mohamed, Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi, Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo and Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi.
The leaders maintained that dialogue and peaceful engagement remain the best avenues for resolving political and social issues facing the country.
