More than 200 boda boda riders in Likuyani Constituency have received over KSh2.5 million in empowerment funds from Kenya Kwanza leaders as the coalition steps up efforts to strengthen President William Ruto’s political support in the Western region ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Speaking during the event, leaders led by Farouk Kibet dismissed opposition claims that the government has failed to deliver on its development agenda.
They pointed to several ongoing and planned infrastructure projects, including the KSh9 billion Maili Tisa–Kitale Road, which is expected to be launched later this year, as evidence of the government’s commitment to transforming the region.
Likuyani MP Innocent Mugabe accused former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua of previously influencing the allocation of national development projects in favour of the Mt. Kenya region at the expense of other parts of the country.
He said the current administration is focused on ensuring equitable distribution of development projects across all regions.
