Officers from the Anti-Stock Theft Unit have recovered 151 stolen sheep and returned them to their rightful owner following a swift overnight operation in the Ndeiya area of Kiambu County.

The theft was reported on the evening of Monday, September 21, 2026, after sheep belonging to a resident of Karunga Village in Ndeiya Sub-County went missing while being herded home from a grazing field.

Officers launched an immediate tracking operation, working closely with members of the local community to trace the animals.

The search led them to the Gicheru area, where all 151 sheep were located and safely recovered.

Efforts to apprehend the suspects and recover any remaining animals are ongoing, with patrols in the area intensified to prevent further incidents.

The NPS commended the officers for their swift response and acknowledged the critical role played by community members in the successful recovery.
