Police officers have recovered approximately 2,900 rolls of cannabis after a suspected drug trafficker abandoned a sack and fled during a police pursuit in Korogocho, Nairobi County.

The incident happened along Korogocho Road, where officers conducting patrols in the Highridge area spotted a man riding a motorcycle while carrying a brown sack.

The officers pursued the suspect as he headed towards the Dandora Dumpsite.

According to police, the rider realised he was being followed and abandoned the sack before speeding towards the dumpsite, managing to evade the officers.

Upon inspecting the abandoned sack, officers found approximately 2,900 rolls of cannabis, commonly referred to as bhang.

The recovered drugs were secured as investigations continue, with police working to identify and apprehend the suspect.

The National Police Service has urged members of the public to provide information that could help identify individuals involved in drug trafficking and other criminal activities.
