Authorities have finally caught up with three Pakistani nationals suspected of kidnapping two Indian nationals shortly after their arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in Nairobi.

Reports indicate that Sandeep Sandeep and Ishwar Singh arrived at JKIA on August 10, 2026, and were cleared through Immigration at about 2:50 pm.

Shortly after being cleared, the two walked out of the airport and were received by two men. The four then boarded a white Nissan Note and drove away.

Preliminary investigations have established that the suspects would later contact the victims’ family members in India through WhatsApp to demand a ransom of USD 32,000 (aproximately KSh4.1 million) for their release.

Working on crucial investigative leads, detectives drawn from the Operation Support Unit (OSU) trailed the suspects to a bungalow within Tumaini Estate, Nkoroi, in Kajiado South.

A search into the bungalow led to the discovery of the two missing Indians inside one of the bedrooms. Their hands and legs were tied at the time.

Three Pakistani nationals found at the house, Shahzad Haroon, Tariq Muhammad Muneeb and Hassan Waqar, were immediately arrested.

During the operation, detectives also recovered the victims’ mobile phones, which had been hidden in a bush approximately two kilometres from the house.

The three suspects are in custody undergoing processing pending arraignment, as detectives continue piecing together the circumstances surrounding the kidnapping and pursuing further leads into a suspected kidnapping-for-ransom network.
