Politicians have been urged to cultivate a culture of respect and maturity whenever they are engaging one another.
Citing a number of occasions where some leaders have been quoted unleashing insults to their colleagues, Machakos Deputy Governor Francis Mwangangi, said if the trend continues unabetted, the country may find itself on the receiving end.
He said the culture was hurriedly spreading to the ordinary citizens and could spark negatively if not contained.
He called upon church leaders to intervene and assist restoring diginity among the politicians that seems to have gone out of hand due to ignorance and pride.
Speaking at the funeral of former Councillor Sammy Muindi in Muthwani Ward of Mavoko Sub-County, Mwangangi asked Kenyans from all walks of life to brace for the new president come 2027, blowing the trumped of Wiper Patriotic Front Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka as the most ideal 6th President of the Republic of Kenya.
Echoing the Deputy Governor’s sentiments, the Lands and Urban Development CECM in the Machakos County Government, Mr Nathaniel Nganga, accused a local politician of using abusive language against Machakos Governor to settle his scores.
“The politician who is vying for the Gubernatorial seat for Machakos County should derive a different sobber approach to face his opponents and decist from insults that will not pay,” said Mr Nganga.
He said the politician’s utterances were setting a negative precedence that may spark crisis in the county out retaliation.
