Wanted robbery suspect arrested in Garissa after failing to appear in court

A 21-year-old robbery with violence suspect who had been on the run after failing to appear in court has been arrested by detectives in Garissa.

Acting on intelligence, detectives tracked down and arrested Hamza Abdi Dagane in the Bulla Medina area of Garissa Township, ending his attempt to evade justice.

The suspect faces two robbery with violence cases before the Garissa Law Courts, where a warrant for his arrest had been issued after he skipped a court appearance on June 29, 2026.

He is expected to be arraigned on July 9, 2026, to answer to the charges.

The DCI reiterated that individuals who attempt to evade the criminal justice system will be pursued, arrested, and brought before the courts to answer for their alleged offences.
