Lang’ata Member of Parliament (MP) Felix ‘Jalang’o’ Odiwuor has publicly challenged fellow entertainer-turned-politician Eric Omondi. Jalang’o’s advice? To shift his political ambition from Lang’ata to the neighbouring Embakasi East constituency.
The MP’s comments follow the release of a new opinion poll that places him in a commanding lead for re-election in Lang’ata.
Jalang’o shared the advice on social media, suggesting that comedian Eric Omondi should vie for the Embakasi East seat currently held by MP Paul Ongili, popularly known as Babu Owino.

“Siasa kidogo kazi kwa wingi!!! @ericomondi nipigie tuongee uniwachie hii mbogi yako , enda usimame Embakasii East, Babu anatoka anapanda juu!”
The comment implies that the current Embakasi East MP, Babu Owino, is likely to pursue a higher political office, leaving the seat open for Omondi to contest.
The advice came just after the release of a survey by Mizani Africa on 3rd November 2025, which highlighted the high voter confidence in Jalang’o’s leadership in Lang’ata.

The poll’s findings suggest a significant margin of support for the current MP:

“Hon. Felix Jalang’o maintains a commanding lead in Lang’ata, reflecting broad voter confidence in his leadership.”
Mizani Africa attributes Jalang’o’s popularity to his visible record and accessible style. The firm noted that the high support reflects voters’ preference for performance-based continuity.
Key areas where Jalang’o’s record is said to resonate is in the Infrastructural improvement, youth empowerment and social programmes
The survey also pointed out that the 28.8% undecided voters represent a significant segment still weighing the MP’s performance against other political noise.
Jalang’o took a moment to thank his constituents, stating:
“When people have confidence in what you do!! I thank the people of Langata for trusting me with this job!”
Babu Owino has been the MP for Embakasi East since 2017. He is known for his vocal and often controversial political style.
The speculation that he might be “going up” suggests a potential move to a gubernatorial in future elections.
This makes Jalang’o’s suggestion a clever strategic move to redirect a potential rival to a different political battleground.
