Football fans in Kenya will have an opportunity to watch Bayern Munich take on Ajax Amsterdam at the Raila Odinga International Stadium, with tickets for the January 5, 2027 fixture starting at KSh 2,500.

Sports Cabinet Secretary Salim Mvurya announced the ticket prices on Thursday, November 5, confirming that sales had opened at 6 pm through the official Talanta Sports City website.

Mvurya said tickets would be made available in different phases and seating categories, with the lowest-priced option aimed at making the match affordable to a wider audience.

He also announced the availability of premium seating, including skyboxes and hospitality packages, for fans seeking a more exclusive experience.

Supporters have been advised to buy their tickets through www.talantasportscity.com, with the CS cautioning against fake websites that could be used to defraud unsuspecting buyers.

The encounter between the two European clubs will officially open the 60,000-capacity stadium, which is nearing completion. Both teams have reportedly committed to travelling with their strongest available squads, meaning fans will watch the senior teams rather than a legends or academy side.

The sporting spectacle will also feature a 12-hour fan festival, with international entertainers, concierge services and cultural activities planned around the match.

On the event’s financing, Mvurya said the arrangements were being supported through private-sector partnerships, amid public debate over the cost of hosting the fixture.

President William Ruto had earlier linked the match to plans to honour the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga during the stadium’s official opening.

The fixture is also expected to serve as a test of Kenya’s capacity to host major international sporting events ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, which the country will co-host alongside Uganda and Tanzania, beginning June 19.
