FC Barcelona sealed their 29th La Liga title in style after beating fierce rivals Real Madrid CF 2-0 in a dramatic El Clásico clash at the Spotify Camp Nou on Sunday night.
The Catalan giants only needed a draw to officially become champions, but they showed they wanted more than just a point.
The home crowd erupted after just eight minutes when Marcus Rashford curled a stunning free kick into the top corner following a foul on Ferran Torres near the edge of the box.
Barcelona doubled their lead ten minutes later through Torres himself. Dani Olmo produced a clever backheel pass that split the Madrid defense open before Torres calmly slotted the ball past the goalkeeper to make it 2-0.
Real Madrid pulled one back when Jude Bellingham found the net, but the goal was ruled out for offside. Vinicius Junior also came close, only to be denied by goalkeeper Joan Garcia.
The victory was especially emotional for Barcelona manager Hansi Flick, who reportedly lost his father before kickoff.
Despite the personal tragedy, Flick stayed on the touchline and guided his side to one of the club’s most important wins in recent years.
