Mwangaza took to social media to show photos of the road, captioning it Murega Baichu Road.

“Murega Baichu Rd. Hakuna boiling tena,” Mwangaza captioned the photos.

The rehabilitation of the road which connects Kirung’a to the Muthalankari area, began a week ago.

Mwangaza impeachment

Her undying love for her husband almost got her in trouble with Meru County Members of the County Assembly.

In September of the previous year, Meru County officially assigned Murega as the patron of Meru Youth Service and the ambassador for ambitious individuals in Meru. Consequently, this move almost got her impeached.

While making the appointment, the governor said her husband would not earn any salary for his tasks.

Furthermore, when making the announcement, she pointed out that he would report directly to her office.

“Today, we are giving him a job without pay and allowances. He will be a volunteer in the docket of Meru Youth Service,” Mwanganza said.

She survived impeachment and she made peace with the Members of the County assembly.

Nepotism allegations

Nevertheless, her troubles are not over yet. The Meru Governor is facing grave accusations of allegedly diverting public funds through suspicious payments to relatives and close aides.

A petitioner, Thuranira Selesion Mutuma, filed a petition that accused the governor of overseeing the plunder of county monies.

In the petition filed at the Senate and the EACC, the petitioner seeks to probe how some Ksh.42.4 million was paid to four people from September 2022 to July 2023.

Additionally, he flagged a bank account belonging to Catherine Rukaria Kathure, who is the secretary to the Chief of Staff of Meru County.
