ODM sets dates for delegates elections in Taita Taveta, Nyando and Kisumu

The Orange Democratic Movement, ODM, has announced the dates for upcoming branch and county delegates elections in three regions, as the party begins laying its groundwork ahead of the 2027 General Election.

In a notice released on May 13, 2026 the party’s National Elections Coordinating Committee (NECC), chaired by Emily Awitta, confirmed that Taita Taveta County will kick off the process on Friday, May 22, followed by Nyando Branch on Friday, May 29, and Kisumu County on Friday, June 5.

All elections will run from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at designated branch and county offices.

The NECC invited eligible delegates to apply for available positions at their respective branch and county offices, saying the process is open to all qualifying party members.

“Eligible delegates of the branch and counties can apply for any positions at the Branch and County offices,” the notice read.

The delegate elections are considered a key step in strengthening ODM’s grassroots structures and selecting representatives ahead of the broader party electoral cycle.

They come at a time when ODM is also inviting applications for six elective positions, including president, governor, senator, woman representative, member of parliament and member of county assembly, with a deadline of June 30 set for submissions.

The elections are taking place against the backdrop of internal tensions within the party, with divisions between the Linda Ground and Linda Mwananchi factions continuing to simmer as ODM works to consolidate its structures and build strategic partnerships ahead of 2027.
