President William Ruto is presiding over the two-day Kenya Health Summit 2026 at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi, bringing together key health sector stakeholders to assess progress and chart the path forward for Kenya’s healthcare system.
Held under the theme “Reforms Delivered, Health as a Right,” the summit is designed to move Kenya’s health agenda from policy commitments to a concrete implementation roadmap.
It focuses on strengthening intergovernmental coordination and mutual accountability across national and county health systems.
Key areas on the agenda include the onboarding of more than 31 million Kenyans onto the Social Health Authority (SHA), digital health transformation, efficiency improvements at KEMSA, the expansion of specialised healthcare services, primary healthcare, maternal and newborn health, and the role of Community Health Promoters in bringing health services closer to households.
The summit has drawn wide participation, with Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula, Cabinet Secretaries Musalia Mudavadi and Aden Duale, governors, county governments, global partners including the World Health Organisation, and innovators all in attendance.
