Youth and grassroots political aspirants affiliated with the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) in Tana River County have strongly condemned alleged plans by rival factions to disrupt the party’s upcoming grassroots elections slated for April 23.
In a joint statement, the aspirants issued a stern warning against any acts of sabotage, political interference, or attempts to undermine the integrity of the electoral process. They insisted that the elections must be conducted in a free, fair, and transparent manner in line with democratic principles.
The group also took issue with individuals reportedly linked to the alleged schemes, terming their actions a betrayal of Tana River residents and a threat to efforts aimed at promoting good governance and accountability within the party.
Their remarks come amid heightened political tensions in the coastal county as UDA gears up for the grassroots polls, which are seen as crucial in shaping the party’s local leadership structure.
