The pilot of a passenger plane was on Friday, May 22 evening forced to make an emergency landing at Wilson Airport in Nairobi.
The Dornier 228 aircraft reportedly operated by World Food Programme is said to have crash landed after its right rear landing gear malfunctioned.
The pilot managed to successfully steer the aircraft to a complete stop, in a heroic move that saw no passenger injured.
Emergency response teams were swiftly deployed to the scene to secure the aircraft as well as ensure all the passengers are safe.
Authorities are yet to release a statement regarding this incident.
The incident comes two months after another plane from Kisumu International Airport crash-landed at the Wilson Airport.
The Safari-link flight with 39 people — including Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi — onboard skidded off the runway upon landing.
