The iPhone 15 is boasting a remarkable 72 hours of battery life, along with the latest AirPods.

Apple presented its announcements in a pre-recorded video that commenced at 1 p.m. ET. Last year’s event lasted approximately an hour and a half.
So, with the new handset set for preorders with delivery starting this month from 22 September 2023, here is what you need to know about it.

– iPhone 15 Pricing-

Apple confirmed that the iPhone 15 Pro would retain the same starting price as the previous year, at $999. The Pro Max variant, on the other hand, would cost $1,199, a price increase that accompanies a 256-gigabyte storage boost.

-Camera Upgrades-

The 48-megapixel cameras now default to shooting in 48MP HEIF, delivering super-high resolution.
Consequently, these cameras also excel in low-light conditions, producing highly detailed photographs.

Moreover, the sensor in the iPhone 15 Pro is larger than in previous models, and it incorporates a Photonic Engine that facilitates 24, 28, and 35-millimeter focal lengths.

Additionally, the Pro version features a 3X telephoto camera, while the 15 Pro Max boasts an upgraded 5X zoom.
This marks a new distinction between the two models within the premium iPhone range.
The iPhone 15 Pro Max also offers a 120-millimeter focal length and allows users to connect directly to their Mac computers.

-Spatial Videos-

Users can now capture spatial videos using both ultrawide and regular cameras.

This will create 3D videos that can be enjoyed on the Vision Pro.

According to Goswami, these videos can be shared with other Apple Vision Pro users and will be rolled out “later this year”

-New Silent Button-

Apple has replaced the mute switch with an “action button” on the Pro variant model.
This button allows users to switch between their ringer and silence modes.

In addition, the new silent key can initiate various actions which include but are not limited to starting a voice memo.

Nevertheless, all the actions will be accompanied by visual feedback on the iPhone 15 Pro’s dynamic island.

-USB-C comes to iPhone 15-

Apple is transitioning to USB-C charging, thus rendering old Lightning cables incompatible.

This means that U.S. residents upgrading will need new cables to support the transition.

Although many may already have USB-C cables for their laptops, headphones, and other devices.

Consequently, the USB-C had been the most anticipated feature coming to the iPhone.

most especially after the EU ruled to have a unified cable for all devices.
Unlike last year, Apple is also likely to include a cable in the iPhone’s packaging to facilitate this transition

-iPhone 15 Color Options-

The high-end, titanium-encased Pro version will be available in black, blue, and silver.
Apple executives emphasized its lightweight and slim design while highlighting the strength of titanium, comparing it to the alloys used in the Mars rover.

In brief, the new phone in town is finally here with a USB-C charging port and the price is almost the same but more. Will you be getting the iPhone 15?
