Cape Media launches Vibe 47, a new digital home for content, culture and conversation

Cape Media Limited has officially launched Vibe 47, a new digital platform designed to bring audiences closer to the content, conversations and culture shaping Kenya today.

Vibe 47 marks a major step in Cape Media’s continued digital expansion, creating a platform built for audiences who increasingly consume content on their phones, on demand and across multiple digital spaces.

The platform will bring together a mix of entertainment, lifestyle, news, current affairs, original shows, short form content and digital first storytelling, creating a more flexible and engaging way for audiences to experience Cape Media content.

Vibe 47 is designed to complement Cape Media’s existing platforms, including TV47 and Radio 47, while also creating a distinct digital destination with its own personality, content and audience experience.

“Vibe 47 reflects how audiences are consuming media today. People want content that is immediate, relevant and easy to access wherever they are. This platform gives us an opportunity to meet them in that space while continuing to invest in strong Kenyan stories and talent,” says Dr. Farida Karoney, Growth and Strategy Consultant, Cape Media Limited.

Content built for digital audiences

Unlike a traditional broadcast schedule, Vibe 47 is designed around the flexibility of digital viewing. Audiences will be able to discover content when they want it and engage with programming across different formats, from longer form shows to shorter, social first content.

The platform will place strong emphasis on Kenyan voices, personalities, culture and everyday experiences, with programming aimed at creating conversations that feel current, relatable and distinctly local.

Vibe 47 will also provide new opportunities for creators, presenters, actors, musicians and other emerging talent to reach audiences through Cape Media’s growing digital ecosystem.

Bringing Cape Media content closer to the audience

The launch of Vibe 47 forms part of Cape Media’s wider strategy to create a stronger connection between television, radio and digital platforms. Rather than treating digital as an extension of traditional broadcasting, Cape Media is investing in content specifically developed for the way online audiences watch, share and interact.

TV47 and Radio 47 will remain key parts of the Cape Media family, while Vibe 47 provides another entry point for audiences looking for accessible, engaging and mobile first content.

“Our audiences do not live on one platform anymore. They move between television, radio, social media and their phones throughout the day. Vibe 47 allows us to move with them and create content that fits naturally into their lives,” notes Dr. Karoney.

A platform for Kenyan stories

At the heart of Vibe 47 is a commitment to Kenyan storytelling. The platform will showcase stories that reflect the country’s diversity, humour, ambition, challenges and changing culture while giving audiences more opportunities to participate in the conversation.

From entertainment and lifestyle to current affairs and original digital formats, Vibe 47 aims to create a space where audiences can discover something new, share what matters to them and connect with the personalities and stories shaping contemporary Kenya.

The platform will continue to expand its content offering as Cape Media develops new shows, partnerships and digital experiences.

The next step in Cape Media’s digital journey

The launch of Vibe 47 signals Cape Media’s ambition to continue evolving beyond traditional broadcasting and build a broader, more connected media ecosystem. As audience habits continue to change, Cape Media believes the future lies in creating strong content that can travel across platforms while remaining relevant to the people it is created for. Vibe 47 is now part of that future.
