In a display of sheer dominance, Kipyegon who is in the form of a lifetime, left a formidable field in her wake, surging to victory in the women’s 1500m Heat Two.

The triple world record holder dictated the tempo from the starting gun to the finish line, recording a commendable time of 4:02.62 ahead of Ethiopia’s Diribe Welteji and Ireland’s Sarah Healy who came in second and third, respectively.

The racing fervor was equally fervent in Heat One, where double Olympic champion Sifan Hassan exhibited her dominance, notching a triumph in 4:02.92 to secure her spot in the semi-finals.

Great Britain’s Laura Muir put forth an admirable effort to secure second place, while Nikki Hiltz clinched a podium position.

Amidst the thrills, Edinah Jebitok stood as the lone Kenyan contender in the race, demonstrating her mettle by clinching a respectable fourth place and a berth in the semi-final round.

The emergence of young talent was unmistakable in Heat Three, as 2003-born Nelly Chepchirchir displayed a masterclass of skill and determination.

USA’s Sinclair Johnson and Ethiopia’s Birke Haylom valiantly secured second and third positions in the fiercely contested heat.

However, former World Under-20 1500m champion Purity Chepkirui faced a different fate in Heat Four, as her performance fell short of expectations, culminating in a disappointing seventh-place finish and a missed opportunity for the semi-final stage.
