A section of leaders allied to President William Ruto in Kitui County has criticised former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, accusing him of promoting divisive politics and portraying himself as a “semi-god” who demands to be worshipped.

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party leaders, led by Kitui South MP Rachel Kaki Nyamai, spoke in Mwingi West and Mwingi Central during women empowerment programmes.

They accused Gachagua of causing divisions even within opposition ranks, while also alleging that he has been insulting women and intimidating fellow leaders by calling on them to dissolve their political parties and join his (DCP).

The leaders further defended the broad-based government, saying it brings together leaders from different political parties and is intended to serve all Kenyans irrespective of their political affiliation.

They also drummed up support for President William Ruto, urging residents to back his administration and its development agenda.
