Glovo launches AI shopping assistant on ChatGPT and Claude to transform quick commerce

Glovo has unveiled its new AI-powered Shopping Assistant for ChatGPT and Claude, marking a major step in the evolution of quick commerce by allowing users to discover, compare and order products through natural conversations with generative artificial intelligence.

Announced on July 13, 2026, the new feature enables customers to search for products using everyday language instead of browsing through app menus or filters.

Users can make requests such as finding “a last-minute gift for a coffee lover under €50,” after which the AI assistant performs a semantic search, checks local availability and curates suitable products from nearby stores.

After linking their Glovo account to either ChatGPT or Claude, users can engage in multi-turn conversations, with the AI remembering preferences such as budget limits and previous requests.

The assistant then presents a visual carousel of up to five tailored product recommendations, complete with images, prices, store details and ratings.

While product discovery takes place within ChatGPT or Claude, customers complete their purchases by selecting the “View on Glovo” option, which redirects them to the Glovo mobile or web application for payment and order confirmation.

The company said the initial rollout focuses on retail and grocery shopping, capitalizing on the growing use of generative AI for product discovery.

Glovo believes the integration will help it reach consumers where they increasingly begin their shopping journeys while capturing high-intent traffic as online search habits continue to evolve.

“We’re always looking for ways to meet our customers where they already are. Being available on Claude and ChatGPT means people can discover what Glovo has to offer as part of a natural conversation, with no friction.

Glovo has always been about being the everyday app that provides choice and convenience, and this is another step in that direction,” said Shiro Theuri, Glovo’s chief technology officer.

Founded in Barcelona in 2015, Glovo operates in 22 countries across Europe, Central Asia and Africa, connecting customers with restaurants, supermarkets, grocery stores and retailers through its on-demand delivery platform.
