I&M Bank Kenya has won three honours at the 2026 Global Banking and Finance Awards, earning international recognition for its digital banking services, retail banking growth and corporate social responsibility initiatives.
The bank was recognised as Best Bank for Digital Banking Services, Kenya 2026, Fastest Growing Retail Bank, Kenya 2026, and Best Bank CSR Initiative, Kenya 2026 for its Ngong Road Forest Restoration Project.
The awards are presented by Global Banking & Finance Review, an international financial intelligence and media platform that recognises achievements across the banking and financial services sectors.
I&M Bank’s digital banking award highlights its investment in mobile and internet banking platforms aimed at making financial services more accessible, secure and convenient for customers.
Acting CEO Kihara Maina said the recognition reflected the bank’s commitment to technology and innovation that allows individuals and businesses to manage their finances seamlessly.
“Our digital transformation journey is creating meaningful value for our customers,” Maina said.
The bank’s retail banking growth was also recognised, with Director of Retail and Business Banking Shameer Patel attributing the achievement to customer trust, improved service delivery, customer-focused products and an expanding distribution network.
The third award recognised the Ngong Road Forest Restoration Project, implemented through the I&M Foundation.
The initiative supports tree planting, community engagement and long-term forest management to improve Nairobi’s green cover, protect biodiversity and benefit communities that depend on the forest.
I&M Sustainability Lead Dipna Shah said sustainability was embedded in the bank’s approach to creating long-term value, adding that partnerships between businesses, communities and conservation organisations could deliver lasting environmental and social benefits.
The three awards reinforce I&M Bank’s focus on digital innovation, customer experience and sustainable development as it seeks to strengthen its position in Kenya’s financial services sector.
