Ivy Namu confirms breakup with Willis Raburu after 5 years of marriage

Ivy Namu has confirmed that her five-year relationship with media personality Willis Raburu, who is also eyeing the Kisumu Senate seat, has come to an end.

In a statement shared via Instagram on Wednesday, June 17, 2026 Namu said the decision to part ways was mutual and asked for privacy as she navigates this new chapter.

“Willis Raburu and I have decided to go our separate ways. Kindly respect our privacy at this moment,” she wrote.

Raburu is yet to issue his own statement on the matter.

The couple’s relationship dates back to 2019, when Raburu invited Namu to appear on his former Citizen TV entertainment show, 10 Over 10.

Their bond grew from there, and by July 2022, the two had announced their engagement during the celebration of their first child’s birthday.

Together, they have two children, a son and a daughter.

This is not the first major relationship transition for Raburu.

He was previously married to Marya Prude, with the marriage officially ending in divorce, as Marya herself confirmed during an Instagram Q & A session with her followers in April 2021. When asked directly whether she was officially divorced, she responded simply, “Yes, I am.”

Raburu had earlier opened up about the breakdown of that marriage, revealing it began unravelling following the loss of their daughter in December 2019.

He disclosed that he was the one who initiated the divorce after realising the relationship was no longer working.

“I initiated the process of divorce, and all respect to her. Unfortunately, it happened. Nobody goes into a marriage with hopes to come out. I am happy that sometimes we lose ourselves. We divorced officially, and I moved on,” he said.

Beyond his personal life, Raburu has been steadily building a political profile.

In April 2026, he joined the Linda Mwananchi movement, where he is positioning himself for a run at the Kisumu Senatorial seat in the 2027 General Election.

Siaya Governor James Orengo welcomed him into the fold, praising the energy and media experience he brings to the movement.

“Willis is running for the Kisumu Senatorial seat, and we are thrilled he has chosen to board our bus, a movement fueled by the aspirations of the youth and a drive for a better Kenya,” Orengo said.
