Energy and Petroleum Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi has issued a direct challenge to political rivals to name their presidential candidate, declaring that the opposition is in total disarray while throwing his weight behind President William Ruto for a second term in 2027.
Speaking in West Uyoma, Rarieda Constituency, during the anniversary commemoration of Mzee Olasi, Wandayi criticized opposition figures for running a campaign built on hatred and division rather than presenting a viable political alternative.
”Make the effort to tell us who your presidential candidate actually is,” Wandayi told the gathering. “Under our broad-based coalition, our candidate is President William Samoei Ruto. We challenge them to name theirs so we can meet head-to-head.”
The Cabinet Secretary projected a commanding first-round victory for President Ruto, dismissing any hopes of an opposition upset as mere “daydreams.”
”I am completely certain that this election will be won early in the morning by His Excellency President William Ruto in Round One with over 65 percent of the vote,” Wandayi added.
Wandayi emphasized that the political alliance between the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) creates a formidable force.
He reassured residents of West Uyoma that key infrastructure and development initiatives for the region are firmly secured within the national government’s plans.
