Kitui MCA arrested as CCTV footage links him to theft of mobile accessories worth KSh1.9 million

A Member of the Kitui County Assembly (MCA) has been arrested after police linked him to the theft of KSh1.9 million worth of assorted mobile accessories that were reported stolen by the management of Buscar Courier Services on February 8, 2025.

Cyrus Musyoka Kisavi was arrested in Nairobi on Tuesday, June 3 following what police are saying is “a positive ID” after a CCTV footage from the scene was analysed.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the CCTV captured the suspect leaving with the parcel destined for a client in Mombasa.

On the fateful day, detectives handling the case say that Kisavi did not reveal his identity as an elected MCA when he showed up at the Buscar Courier Services offices on River Road, Nairobi.

A security personnel detained him before handing him over to police at Central Police Station. It was at the Station that he was identified, and handed over to Mombasa detectives for further processing.
