Speaking on Radio 47’s morning show titled Breakfast 47, Jalang’o said he was already in communication with his lawyers over the matter.

“We will be in court until 2027. I am not in a hurry but I am speaking with my lawyers although one of them has also been expelled (Senator Ojienda). Yani napitia magumu,” he said, laughing.

Jalang’o speaks on possible by-election

The renowned radio presenters pressed him to confirm whether he was ready for a by-election should the court uphold their expulsion.

Jalang’o, in a cryptic response, stated that he would emerge the winner regardless of the party that granted him a ticket.

“Niko tayari kuingia popote iwe independent, ODM ama yoyote ile,” he clarified after the question was reiterated.

ODM has a weak case

The first time MP expressed confidence that the case would be dismissed, seeing as other Azimio leaders had also met President William Ruto.

“Even ODM knows there’s no case there. Yesterday Kalonzo spent time in State House. MPs like Manduku are Ruto’s friends. MPs like Kanchory have also visited the President.

“Then why were some of us expelled yet others were just given fines? What mistake did we commit more than all the others? Therefore the case will be too weak for them,” Jalang’o wondered.

The lawmaker maintained that regardless of the final verdict, his respect for the leader Raila Odinga does not change.

“I am very grateful to Baba for supporting me. There’s no job that lacks its own challenges.”
