Nairobi goes pink as polo meets fashion and cancer awareness

The Nairobi social circuit was set for an exciting highlight this weekend as the Nairobi Polo Club hosted its first Pink Polo tournament in honor of October’s Breast Cancer Awareness campaign.

As tradition for the last five years, Kenya Breweries Limited through its premium beer, Tusker Malt partnered with the polo club for the tournament that brought together polo fans and enthusiasts, fashionistas, influencers and Kenyans standing in solidarity with the course.

Attendees to the inaugural tournament came dressed to their Ts, withh pink being the highlight theme colour complemented by other shades of courage that symbolizes hope, solidarity and honor for those affected by the scourge.

Beyond the thrill of the game, the inaugural fixture featured a grand horse parade spectacle where the horses and their riders took the turf in a breathtaking procession of elegance. The parade involved a showcase of different colours representing different types of cancers affecting Kenyans – both male and female.

Speaking during the tournament, Tusker Malt’s Brand Manager Naomi Kiema emphasized the brand’s commitment to continue elevating Kenya’s lifestyle and social scene ensuring that fans get an exceptional experience by the field.

“Polo has long been a celebrated canvas where sport, fashion, community and fine craftsmanship meet. As a longtime partner of the Nairobi Polo Club, we are excited to support this inaugural Pink Polo tournament which promises a blend of community, fashion and style, entertainment and meaningful conversation,” she said.

To add a touch of flare to the weekend, KBL hosted a dedicated pitch-side VIP experience designed for groups looking to celebrate in style.  For Sh15,000, a group of four, the package offers reserved table service with prime views of the pitch, accompanied by a pitcher of refreshing Tusker Malt Shandy and a bottle of Tanquery No.10.
