Nairobi is set to become a major meeting point for global agribusiness, food processing, poultry, packaging and manufacturing players when Dubai-based MXM Exhibitors hosts the 10th International Trade Expo AgroFood-Plastpack-Paper 2026 from August 20–22 at the Sarit Expo Centre.
The three-day international exhibition will be jointly hosted by MXM Exhibitors, the Kenya Veterinary Association (KVA) and the Institute of Packaging Professionals Kenya (IOPPK), bringing together expertise from agriculture, livestock, veterinary services, food processing, packaging and manufacturing.
The expo is expected to attract more than 200 exhibitors and thousands of trade visitors from over 60 countries across Africa, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
It will provide a platform for manufacturers, farmers, investors, policymakers, distributors, researchers and technology providers to showcase innovations, forge partnerships and explore emerging markets across East Africa.
Dr Carol Khaemba, Honorary Secretary of KVA, said the association’s participation would strengthen the professional and technical dimension of the exhibition.
“The Kenya Veterinary Association is proud to partner as a joint host of the 10th International Trade Expo Agro & Poultry Africa 2026, a platform that brings together key players across the livestock and agribusiness value chain,” she said.
Khaemba said KVA would coordinate scientific discussions focusing on animal health, food safety, animal welfare, disease prevention and emerging technologies shaping livestock production.
She added that veterinarians play a critical role in disease surveillance, zoonotic disease prevention, food safety, antimicrobial resistance management, livestock certification and emergency response.
“Our participation underscores the critical role veterinary professionals play in transforming agriculture and safeguarding public health,” she said, noting that healthy livestock are central to food security, productivity, sustainable trade and economic growth.
According to MXM Exhibitors’ event organiser, Axan Rashid, the exhibition has developed into an important platform for knowledge exchange and commercial networking.
“The exhibition brings together key stakeholders from across the agricultural value chain to showcase emerging technologies, facilitate business partnerships and promote investment opportunities,” Rashid said.
The exhibition will feature dedicated sections covering agriculture, livestock, poultry farming, irrigation, greenhouse technology, food processing machinery, cold-chain logistics, food ingredients, plastics manufacturing, printing technology and sustainable packaging.
Visitors will also interact with manufacturers showcasing farm machinery, precision agriculture technologies, poultry production systems, grain handling equipment, food processing lines, laboratory technologies and environmentally friendly packaging solutions. A key attraction will be the Innovation Pavilion, where startups, research institutions and international manufacturers will demonstrate technologies aimed at improving productivity, reducing post-harvest losses, enhancing food safety and supporting climate-smart agriculture.
Innovations expected to feature include smart irrigation systems, artificial intelligence-powered farm management tools, agricultural drones, automated poultry systems, biodegradable packaging, recyclable plastics and energy-efficient food processing equipment.The expo comes as Kenya seeks to modernise agriculture, strengthen food security and expand value addition within manufacturing.
Agriculture remains a major pillar of the Kenyan economy, supporting millions of livelihoods and contributing significantly to exports through products such as tea, coffee, flowers, fruits, vegetables, avocado and macadamia nuts.
The growth of food processing is also driving demand for modern packaging technologies as manufacturers seek to meet changing consumer preferences and international export standards.
The packaging sector is increasingly embracing flexible packaging, corrugated cartons, food-grade containers, biodegradable materials and recyclable solutions, driven by growth in retail, pharmaceuticals, horticulture, e-commerce and fast-moving consumer goods.Kenya’s plastics industry is similarly undergoing transformation, with growing emphasis on recycling, circular economy models and environmentally sustainable manufacturing.
The expo will therefore offer companies an opportunity to showcase plastic recycling technologies, biodegradable packaging, waste management solutions and circular manufacturing models aligned with Kenya’s green industrialisation agenda.
International exhibitors including Jamesway, Bio-Test Lab, Sun Group, ATLAS IMEX, United Paper Mills and Petrofer are expected to showcase technologies in poultry production, livestock management, food processing, packaging and agricultural machinery.
Beyond the exhibition floor, participants will take part in business networking sessions, technical workshops, live demonstrations and expert presentations covering food security, agribusiness financing, mechanisation, sustainable farming, climate resilience, packaging innovation, export markets and investment opportunities.
Organisers believe the event will reinforce Nairobi’s position as a regional trade and investment hub while creating opportunities for Kenyan and East African businesses to connect with international manufacturers and investors.
