Ruto promises to provide uniforms for all learners at Lenana School

President William Ruto on Monday May 13, 2024 promised to buy school uniforms for all learners at the newly opened Lenana School Primary in Nairobi.

Speaking while officially opening the school on Monday, the President noted that learners should continue attending classes as he makes arrangements for them to get new shoes and uniforms.

The president made the remarks after noticing that pupils were putting uniforms from different schools, emphasizing the need for all learners to dress uniformly.

“We will build and equip 24 extra classrooms for Lenana School Primary so that it can serve more students in Dagoretti South.

“Our focus is to ensure that all our children access the right learning environment to boost their academic performance,” said Ruto.

Ruto noted most learners had various different school uniforms, and he said the learners should continue with learning process as the school uniform arrangements are in process.

“Kila mtoto amabye atakuja hapa mara ya kwanza nitawanunulia uniform mpaka viatu. Hawa watoto wamekuja hapa wako na uniform za shule zingine, yule amekuja na nguo ya nyumbani. Lakini hata kabla uniform haijafika hawa watoto waingie darasani waendelee kusoma,” said President Ruto.

This comes a day after he urged Kenyans to pray as schools open for second term.

For instance on Sunday May12, 2024, during a church service at CITAM, Valley Road, in Nairobi, he stated that the prayers should also include the learners academic and personal growth.

“Our children are opening school on Monday Tomorrow, I want you to pray over our children so that when they go to school, they’d be safe and they can get what education offers and be mentored into responsible citizens,” he said.

He added that all challenges that Kenyans are facing will come to an end as Transport CS Kipchumba Murkomen urged parents to release their children early for school.
