Tragedy has struck Makindu Boys High School in Makueni County after three people reportedly drowned in a septic tank within the school compound.
The victims, who had been contracted, were busy emptying the school septic tank.
Emergency response teams, police officers and local residents are currently at the scene conducting retrieval operations after two bodies were successfully recovered.
Efforts to retrieve the third body are still ongoing amid heightened tension and sorrow.
Authorities have since launched investigations into the tragic incident as concerns emerge over safety measures during the emptying of septic tanks and other hazardous operations.
