Sifuna unveils proposed Linda Mwananchi leadership team, names Mwangaza and Osotsi to top roles

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has revealed a proposed leadership lineup for the Linda Mwananchi Movement Party, with former Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza and Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi among those earmarked for senior positions.

Speaking on Friday, October 30, during the launch of the party’s secretariat ahead of its National Delegates Conference, Sifuna said the proposed structure would have a party leader supported by four deputies.

“We will be proposing that we structure the party so that we have a party leader and four deputies. For now, we have resolved that Kawira Mwangaza has decided to be one of the party leaders,” he said.

Mwangaza and Patrick Makau were named as deputy party leaders, while former Law Society of Kenya President Faith Odhiambo was proposed for another deputy slot.

A fourth position has been reserved for a representative from the Coast region.

Osotsi has been proposed as party chairperson, with former Makadara MP Reuben Ndolo as his deputy.

Suba South MP Caroli Omondi was fronted for Secretary General, with Pauline Njoroge as his deputy.

Kisii Senator Richard Onyonka was named national treasurer, deputised by Abigael Gikonyo. Trans Nzoia governor George Natembeya was named director of campaigns.

Other proposed officials include Kari Karani as Organising Secretary and Francy Kadide as Secretary for Legal Affairs.

Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale was proposed as Secretary for Political Affairs, and is also expected to seek the Kakamega governorship on the party’s ticket.

On the wings and special interest positions, Caroline Mayuzu was nominated to head the women’s league and Fridah Onduso the youth league.

Torome Nalengoyo, the immediate former Narok ODM chairperson, was proposed as the representative for minority affairs.

Eunice Juma, one of the party’s founders, was named for diaspora affairs, while Gilbert Shanga was proposed for international affairs.

Sifuna said the names will be presented to the National Delegates Conference for consideration and endorsement as the party formalises its leadership structure.
