Bobi Wine pleads with Ugandans not to let Museveni’s son become president

National Unity Platform (NUP) party leader Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine has called on Ugandans to oppose Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s presidential bid.

This was after Gen Muhoozi expressed his interest in the presidency and taking over from his father President Yoweri Museveni.

Bobi Wine said that Ugandans should use all means possible to stop the power transition from Museveni to his son.

“I am here to relay the revolutionary message to remove Museveni from the presidency,

“He now wants to bring his son to inflict the same torture on Ugandans,

“We must prevent that from happening by getting Museveni out of power,” Bobi Wine stated.

He criticized Gen. Muhoozi’s political activities in the country, adding that the president’s son was bribing citizens to get support.

“His son has been buying people with money, We have taken Museveni and his son to the ICC and he knows we are serious,” stated Bobi Wine.

Uganda’s opposition politician narrated that, he had defeated President Museveni before and would champion the rights of citizens for a better Uganda.

“We have defeated Museveni more than once. Dr. Besigye defeated him in 2016, and I defeated him in 2021.

I can defeat Museveni any day of the week and twice on a Sunday, but as you know elections alone, are not enough,” he stated.

On the other hand, Godfrey Kabbyanga, who is the Minister for ICT said Bobi Wine’s statements were baseless since Gen. Muhoozi has a right to contest for the presidency like any other Ugandan.
