Two senior county officials arrested for hiring goons to disrupt public events

Police officers in Trans Nzoia County have arrested two suspects linked to organised criminal activities after a joint operation by Kitale Police Station officers and a team from DCI Headquarters led to raids in two areas of the county.

Acting on intelligence, the officers descended on Chebarus and Kibomet areas in Trans Nzoia West Sub-County, where they swiftly arrested Dickson Wamocho and Frank Kuyala.

A thorough search of the suspects yielded a military-style tactical uniform, two pairs of combat boots, a sword, metal rods, and several mobile phones, all believed to have been used in criminal activities.

Both suspects are currently in custody undergoing processing ahead of their arraignment in court, while all recovered items have been secured as exhibits.

The DCI reiterated its commitment to dismantling organised criminal networks through intelligence-led operations and urged members of the public to continue sharing credible information with law enforcement agencies.
