Kenyan musician Stevo Simple Boy has broken his silence after controversial content creator Andrew Kibe made hurtful remarks about him and his newborn child during an appearance on Lessons at 30 hosted by Dr. Ofweneke.
In a heartfelt statement shared on his social media pages, Stevo appealed to Kibe to keep his family, especially his child, out of their differences.
“Andrew Kibe, kama una tatizo na mimi, zungumza kuhusu mimi. Lakini usimhusishe mtoto wangu ambaye hana kosa lolote,” Stevo wrote.
The singer emphasized that no child deserves to be mocked because of their appearance or the circumstances of their birth.

“Sijawahi kuchagua nilivyozaliwa, lakini nimechagua kuwa mtu mwenye heshima, kufanya kazi kwa bidii na kujenga familia yangu.
Watoto wote ni baraka, na hakuna mtoto anayestahili kudharauliwa kwa sababu ya mwonekano wake au wazazi wake,” he added.
Stevo concluded his message by saying he would not be distracted by the criticism.
“Mimi sitalipisha chuki kwa chuki, nitazidi kutia bidii kwa kazi yangu. Mimi nitaendelea kusonga mbele. Mungu ndiye hakimu wa wote.”
His response came after Kibe, while appearing on Dr. Ofweneke’s podcast, suggested that Stevo should never have had children, saying, “Hatuezi kuwa na watu kama Stevo Simple Boy wanapata watoto. Huyo anafaa akizaliwa apigwe vasectomy.”

The remarks sparked widespread backlash online, with many Kenyans condemning Kibe for dragging an innocent child into the criticism.
Following the public outrage, podcast host Dr. Ofweneke issued a public apology, taking full responsibility for allowing the comments to air.
“I take full responsibility that I should have reacted in a much better way as a big brother,” he said.

Addressing Stevo directly, Ofweneke added, “I want to apologize to you and your family, and more so to your newborn kid, for any statements that were made that have actually bruised you and made you feel less of a human.”
He also revealed that he had personally called Stevo to apologize before releasing the public statement and confirmed that the offensive section of the interview was being edited out to prevent further harm.
