Why DJ Joe Mfalme is now a state witness in DCI officer’s murder

Allan Ochieng, alias Hype Balo, will be charged with the murder of Felix Kelian Kintosi, a DCI officer attached to the Dagoretti Directorate of Criminal Investigation office.

Hype Balo’s six co-suspects, among them Joseph Mwenda Munoru, popularly known as Dj Joe Mfalme, shall be prosecution witnesses, this is according to the Office of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (ODPP).

The prosecution, led by Prosecution Counsel Michael Mutune, stated that the investigations by the DCI were concluded and there was no enough evidence to charge Joseph Mwenda Munoru (DJ Joe Mfalme), Eric Kariuki Gathua, Simon Wambugu Wanjiru, Khadija Abdi Wako, Sammy Cheruyot Rotich and Agnes Kerubo Mogoi.

DJ Joe Mfalme and his co-accused were arraigned in court after being detained for 14 days as police continued with investigations into the matter.

Reports indicate that on March 16, DJ Joe Mfalme and his team were returning home in Kikuyu when they encountered a minor accident.

Fredrick Kosen, a police officer attached to DCI Dagoretti, stated that after the collision, a confrontation erupted which resulted in the deceased being assaulted by Allan, Eric, Simon, and DJ Joe.

Later, news about Joe and his team being arrested went viral on March 23, as details emerged that the DJ and his team allegedly roughed up Kelian, who later died.

Allan Ochieng will now take a plea at Kiambu Law Court and be charged with murder.
