A school hosting insecurity victims from Baringo South has celebrated impressive 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results after 20 out of 51 candidates attained direct university entry grades.

Sabor Senior School in Baringo South, which held a thanksgiving ceremony on Friday, May 22 to celebrate the achievement, serves as a rescue centre for hundreds of students who fled banditry attacks in Arabal, Mukutani and Chemorong’ion areas, with the institution supporting their education despite the challenges caused by insecurity.

School Board Chair Sarah Taiwa revealed that despite emerging among the best-performing schools in the sub-county, the institution is grappling with major challenges including inadequate infrastructure, water shortage and understaffing, and called on the government to intervene.
Marigat MCA Dr. Nixon Lemlem said there is need to urgently address the challenges facing the school to secure the future of internally displaced students affected by insecurity.

Sabor Senior School currently hosts 230 students, the majority of whom come from areas heavily affected by insecurity.
