Police in Nakuru County have arrested four suspected criminals believed to be linked to the notorious “Men in Black” gang, in a coordinated operation that also led to the recovery of stolen property.
The breakthrough followed an intelligence-led patrol by officers from Mau Narok Police Station, who intercepted and apprehended two suspects at Mau-Narok Trading Centre.
The pair had reportedly been on the police radar for some time over their alleged involvement in criminal activities within the area.
At the time of arrest, the suspects were found carrying concealed machetes and daggers, raising concerns over their intent to commit violent offences.
Preliminary investigations have since linked them to the feared “Men in Black” gang, which has been blamed for a series of robberies and burglaries targeting residents and businesses in Mau Narok and its surrounding areas.
Acting on leads obtained during interrogation, officers launched follow-up operations that resulted in the recovery of household goods and a large number of electronic items believed to have been stolen.
The recovery led to the arrest of two additional suspects on charges of handling stolen property, pointing to a broader network involved in the storage and movement of stolen goods.
All four suspects are currently in police custody and are expected to be arraigned in court.
The arrests form part of an ongoing crackdown on violent crime in Nakuru County, with the National Police Service reiterating its commitment to intelligence-driven operations aimed at dismantling organised criminal gangs and enhancing public safety.
