For Kalekye Mumo, losing 28.1kg was never just about seeing a smaller number on the scale or slipping into a smaller dress. It was more than that.

The media personality has opened up about the deeper motivation behind her transformation, revealing that she embarked on the journey because she wanted to feel stronger, move with greater ease and live a healthier life.

And while she admits that seeing the dramatic change in her body has been incredible and that she is thrilled to fit into clothes she had not worn in years-there is something far more meaningful to her than her changing appearance.

“This journey was never just about getting into a smaller dress,” Kalekye said on Saturday, September 12, 2026.

Kalekye said her biggest victory is not what she sees in the mirror, but what her body can now do.

She wanted to become stronger and more agile, and to stop feeling as though her body was standing between her and the life she wanted to live.

“Yes, seeing the difference in my body is incredible. And yes, I’m enjoying fitting into clothes I haven’t worn in years,” she said.K

But her transformation is about much more than clothes.

Kalekye revealed that one of her biggest goals was to become strong enough to dance for Jesus without feeling physically restricted.

She also wants to approach ageing differently by becoming healthier and stronger rather than simply accepting weakness as an inevitable part of getting older.

“I wanted to be stronger. More agile. I wanted to dance for Jesus without feeling like my body is holding me back,” she said.

For Kalekye, the journey is ultimately about taking care of herself for as long as possible.

She acknowledged that ageing cannot be stopped, but said declining strength does not have to be accepted as its natural companion.

“And most importantly, age stronger and healthier so that I can take care of myself for as long as possible. Because let’s face it, getting older is inevitable. Getting weaker DOES NOT have to be,” she said.

Despite the striking 28.1kg transformation, Kalekye made it clear that she is not calling it the finish line.

She remains committed to eating healthier, moving more, building her strength and continuing to care for the body she has been given.

For her, the real transformation is not simply about looking different-it is about living differently, moving freely and growing older with strength.
