The Government of Kenya has announced that the ongoing evacuation exercise for Kenyan nationals in South Africa will conclude on Thursday, July 9, 2026, with the departure of the final repatriation flight from Johannesburg.
In a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs through the State Department for Diaspora Affairs, the government expressed its gratitude to the Kenyan community in South Africa, particularly the Kenya Diaspora Association in South Africa (KEDASA), for maintaining peace and cooperating with consular officials and local authorities throughout the evacuation process.
The ministry urged all Kenyans in South Africa who still require evacuation assistance to register immediately with the Kenya High Commission in Pretoria.

Those seeking repatriation have been directed to present themselves at the mission for vetting and processing no later than Tuesday, July 7, 2026.
According to the government, only individuals who have successfully completed the registration, vetting, and processing procedures will be eligible to board the final evacuation flight.
To support affected citizens, the State Department for Diaspora Affairs has provided emergency contacts through its 24-hour Diaspora Call and Response Centre.
The Kenya High Commission in Pretoria has also established emergency communication channels to assist Kenyan nationals requiring urgent support.
Additionally, individuals facing immediate security concerns have been advised to contact the South African Police Service.
The Kenyan government reaffirmed its commitment to monitoring the situation in South Africa and pledged to provide further updates should the need arise.
The announcement marks the final phase of Kenya’s evacuation efforts, which have been undertaken to ensure the safety and welfare of its citizens residing in South Africa during the ongoing crisis.
