Manchester United play their penultimate game of their 2025/26 Premier League campaign on Sunday, May 17, with a home fixture against Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford.
The match that could seal a third-place finish for Michael Carrick’s side will kick off at 14:30 EAT, with United requiring at least a draw to secure their standing. However, Forest arrive buoyed by a strong late-season run that has eased their relegation worries under Vitor Pereira, highlighted by impressive victories over Chelsea, Sunderland and Burnley.
The occasion is expected to carry added significance for the hosts, with Casemiro set for an emotional farewell ahead of his summer departure and the club also unveiling the 2026/27 home kit.
United, however, will be eager to end a winless league run against Forest stretching back to 2023, having lost twice last season and drawn earlier this term, while earlier results this season saw Casemiro’s opener cancelled out in a 2-2 draw.
“We want to finish this season strong. I think we’ve put ourselves in a good position. We’ve achieved something, to a point. But yeah, we want to finish well especially at home. Home and away, you know, it doesn’t matter. But I think we feel that responsibility and pride in ourselves and for the football club that we want to finish strong,” said United’s coach, Michael Carrick, in the pre-match press conference.
In other Premier League fixtures of the day at 17:00 EAT, Brentford meet Crystal Palace, Wolves host West Ham and Everton face Sunderland, before Newcastle take on West Ham at 19:30 EAT.
