Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Makadara, Nairobi County, have recovered a large consignment of suspected stolen property following a raid on a residence in the area.
The items recovered include 120 smartphones, 10 laptops, two tablets, 18 assorted gas cylinders and various mobile phone spare parts.
According to the DCI, detectives acted on intelligence regarding suspected stolen electronic devices and other property believed to be in the possession of a suspect.
The officers subsequently raided the residence of Julius Murengi Gacheru, where they found the assorted items.
Gacheru was arrested and placed in custody as investigations began into the origin and ownership of the recovered property.
The recovered items are currently being processed as detectives work to identify their rightful owners and establish how they came into the suspect’s possession.
The DCI has urged members of the public who may have lost electronic devices or other property to come forward with relevant information that could assist in identifying the recovered items.
